Jazmin Wong graduated from the University of Wisconsin Superior and received her bachelor’s degree in music, with an emphasis on piano, and has a business minor. While growing up in Milwaukee Wisconsin she went to a performing arts middle school where she was in the orchestra and took lessons in harp, piano, and violin. During her childhood she played music by ear and it wasn’t until college that she began reading sheet music.
During college she took classes on piano pedagogy, conducting, music technology, and composition. She participated in the UWS choir for five years and sang Carmina Burana by Carl Orff with the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra. During her time at UWS she also participated in steel drum and percussion ensemble and got to play a percussion part for the UWS Chorfest for Carmina Burana. At UWS she studied piano underneath Alexander Sandor. Jazmin Wong wrote her senior capstone on the transition of piano students from lesson books to intermediate repertoire.
As a musician Jazmin loves to improvise and compose and teaches creativity in lessons.
